On March 27, 2026, I assumed the position of President of Kyowa Hakko Bio Co., Ltd.
Our company has long been committed to exploring the potential of microorganisms, with fermentation and biotechnology at the core of our expertise.
Our dedication to these technologies has been refined over many years—strain development, fermentation control, purification, and large-scale production all form the foundation of our competitiveness. Microorganisms often surpass our imagination, and I believe that fermentation still holds countless possibilities yet to be discovered.
Our corporate philosophy is: “We strive to contribute to the health and well-being of people around the world by creating new value through the pursuit of advances of life sciences and technologies.”
To realize this vision, every part of our value chain—research, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply, and sales—works as one to continuously meet the expectations of our customers and business partners. We aspire not only to provide materials, but to create value through the steady cultivation of trust.
A principle I hold dear is “Wachū Kyōdō”—working together in harmony and unity of purpose.
By respecting diverse expertise and individuality while aligning our hearts toward a common goal, we bring together individual strengths to achieve results as one team.
Another personal motto of mine is: “Live as if life were 300 years long, and always remain humble.”
While somewhat humorous in origin, it serves as a reminder to myself that we are always on a continuing journey.
By believing in the potential of fermentation, continuously refining its power, and taking on new challenges together with our colleagues, we will continue to create meaningful progress toward a healthier and more sustainable future.
